01Strategy vs plan
Strategy: target buyer, positioning, lead channel, motion. Plan: the calendar that executes it. Most founders write the first and skip the second, then wonder why launch week feels chaotic.
02Days 1 to 30: build the runway
Goal: an audience that knows the launch is coming and assets that are ready.
- Founder account on X posting the build several times a week.
- Positioning line and three proof points locked.
- Launch video recorded: real product, real task, short.
- List of creators and accounts who already talk to your buyer.
- Waitlist or early access page live, with one clear action.
03Days 31 to 60: launch
Goal: concentrated attention in a short window.
- Launch thread drafted, reviewed, scheduled.
- Creator and KOL amplification lined up for launch day.
- Support channels timed around the X launch: Product Hunt, communities, email list.
- Hour by hour run sheet for launch day with one owner per hour.
- Onboarding tested end to end by someone outside the team.
04Days 61 to 90: convert and repeat
Goal: turn launch attention into active users and a repeatable rhythm.
- Follow up with every signup who has not reached the first useful result.
- Ship and post visible updates on a steady cadence.
- Test small X ad budgets against the posts that already worked organically.
- Collect user stories you have permission to share.
- Review the plan: cut what did not move signups, double what did.
05Budget and metrics
Give each channel a low, mid and high budget range instead of one number, so you can scale up only what works. Track a short list weekly: profile visits and replies on X, signups, activation (first useful result), and retained users at week four.
06Owners and reviews
Put one name next to every task, even if several people help. Hold a short weekly review: what shipped, what moved, what slipped. Move slipped tasks to a new date or cut them. A plan that is never reviewed turns into a wish list within a few weeks, and the launch date quietly drifts.
A GTM plan is a calendar with owners and budgets: runway, launch, then convert and repeat.
